Love this filmanet

In a Bambu Lab P2S using BL generic PCTG preset prints very nicely. I originally purchased the Obsidian Black to test. Every print cam out very nice and clean. I like the design of this filament it is not a sponge like PETG and I live in central Alabama where the summer humidity is oh so fun. This filament save me time and is always ready to go even in the summer. I like the toughness the fact that it can take the heat well and its not a sponge- Great afordable go to Filament for many projects.

Let me say, that this product makes production of quality Lithophanes, a breeze.

I am new to 3d printing, still finding my way around its capabilities. While researching for things to make with my printer, I found “Lithophanes”.

I have always been intrigued by photos, that come to life, when backlit.
While searching the Web, I found several programs, for producing such a photo. They were all “hosted”, more like an SAS solution, and I just wasn’t comfortable with that.

But then I found “Lithophane Maker Desktop”. A dedicated program that I can download, and it lives on my computer. I was sold.

So now I’m printing these “photos”, for friend’s weddings and other life events.

But as the review title says, I also learned a lesson.

After I purchased the software, my Win11 Laptop would not run the program.
So I uninstalled it, rebooted, and did a “clean install”. Same results.
I was not happy, and posted a harsh review.

As it turned out, the issue was with the “operating system”, and it took a 90 minute remote session with MS Tech Support to fix it.
It now runs perfectly, and I’m able to produce some heartwarming gifts.

I also found out that if I had contacted the vendor, American Filament, they would have helped me.

I guess at 75yrs old, I can still learn a lesson in humility.

Ultimately, I upgraded to the Lifetime Windows version. 😊

The Graphite Silk from American Filament's finish is incredibly smooth with a deep metallic sheen that makes prints look premium right off the bed. It feeds consistently, layers bond well, and I’ve had zero clogging issues. Great dimensional accuracy and a beautiful surface finish.
