American Filament is a leading manufacturer of high-quality 3D printer filament. We are committed to innovation, quality, and sustainability in the 3D printing industry. Our team is growing, and we are looking for a dedicated Extrusion Line Operator to join our production floor.

Job Summary:

As an Extrusion Line Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a single screw extrusion line to manufacture 3D printer filament. You will also handle the packaging of orders for shipment and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the production floor. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient operation of our production line and the delivery of high-quality products to our customers. This position will initially be part-time, with the expectation of transitioning to full-time in the future as our production needs increase.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a single screw extrusion line to produce 3D printer filament according to established procedures.
  • Monitor machine performance and adjust settings as needed to ensure consistent quality.
  • Keep accurate records of production data, including quantities produced, materials used, and any deviations from standard operations.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on extrusion equipment.
  • Package finished filament spools.
  • Label and box orders for shipment.
  • Perform material handling using equipment such as pallet jacks, carts, and hand trucks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols.
  • Assist with maintaining overall production flow.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and present suggestions to leadership.
  • Associates will work in a manufacturing environment and must be available to work any shift, weekends, and/or overtime as required.
  • May be required to perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures in a production setting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality control.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new skills quickly.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive motions.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check process.

  • Pay: $15-$20 /hour (based on experience).
  • Eight paid holidays every calendar year and Paid Time Off (PTO).
