I did not want to believe the other reviews about the color because they stated they worked with a DoD contractor for the color but in no way is this anywhere near any official FDE color that I can find or have used now or in the past. Not that there is an official FDE shade, but whatever it is, this is not it. It is like others said, a very very light beige/gray at best.
I will say tho it prints fantastic, not sure what the other reviewer said about quality. I ran a calibration test before printing and it came out to just about the same as any other PLA+ we have used/tested. Same settings, and printed smooth and consistent. Top tier printing capability in my opinion of 7 years of printing. We are currently using for prototyping designs. So I may try their other colors in the future.
3 stars is just because the color is so far off. Printing is 5 stars
Haven't had any issues printing with any of the filliments, all printed exstreamly well.
While I LOVE BUYING AMERICAN MADE this filament is much lighter than the picture shows
Hi there! Thank you so much for supporting American-made products!
We’re sorry to hear the color looked lighter than expected. Screens and monitors can display colors differently depending on brightness and calibration, so the shade can sometimes appear a little different in person.
Your feedback is appreciated and helps us fine-tune how we showcase our colors.
This is the worst PLA I've used in years of 3d printing. For starters the color desert tan is closer to white or an extremely light grey than anything I've ever called tan. Secondly even the simplest models i attempted would warp off the bed and fail due to the TERRIBLE bed adhesion i had with this filament and i tried everything i could think of to get it to stick at all. i was only able to do very small prints at SUPER slow speeds to have any success at all.
Nick, I apologize that you were disapointed in the color. We developed this color to fulfill a request by one of our larger Federal DOD Contractor customers per their specifications, and we received input from several LEO customers as well; so we are confident in calling the color Desert Tan. For the bed adhesion: what printer and build plate are you using? Hopefully we can help figure out the issue & get it resolved!
