American Filament PCTG is very similar to PETG with several distinct advantages. You could even call it a PETG+! Our PCTG is made with a PET-based copolyester specifically designed for professional grade 3D printing applications where easy processing and high toughness are critical.
Our PCTG is made with a PET-based copolyester specifically designed for professional grade 3D printing applications where easy processing and high toughness are critical.
This material features a unique self-bonding ability providing very high layer-to-layer adhesion; possesses a high melt strength ensuring an even flow during the 3D printing process; is more chemically resistant & stable than PETG, ABS, or ASA (making it suitable for a wide variety of applications); boasts unmatched impact strength & toughness; has lower moisture absorption than PETG (making it more shelf stable); and can be printed reliably without an enclosure.
Unlike PETG, the finish of PCTG can vary between matte and glossy depending upon the temperature and speed settings you choose. Try 240-245°C to get that matte finish!
Key Features:
- Unmatched Strength & Toughness: Higher compressive, tensile, and impact strength than many other PETGs.
- High-Temp: Glass Transition Temperature of 85°C.
- Professional-Grade Performance
- Low Odor
- Does NOT Require Drying Before Use
- Effortless Printing: Even flow rate & wide range of nozzle temperatures.
- Manufactured in the USA: Manufactured with American quality you can trust.

- Nozzle Temperature: 240 - 270°C
- Bed Temperature: 70 - 100°C
- Speed: 60 - 300 mm/s
Nozzle temperature can vary between 240-270°C depending on desired layer to layer adhesion vs part print quality. Higher nozzle temperatures will result in stronger parts, but may cause lower quality and/or increased stringing.
Part cooling can also vary depending on desired layer to layer adhesion vs part print quality. More cooling will result in better overhangs & bridging, but will decrease the ultimate layer to layer adhesion.
DO NOT DRY AT TEMPERATURES OVER 60°C.

trying to send it all back. it’s useless after 20% of the roll is used. no help from product support. very frustrating as i bought from this was they are supposed to be made i. usa and a usa company.
Dennis,
We are very sorry that you had a disappointing experience with our product. However, our support team did their best to work with you on resolving your issues, and determined you were using incorrect slicer and printer settings. Our sales team is waiting on a reply from you in regards to the return process.
Printed with no issues - love the color and the finish.
Simply exceptional filament - thank you
Prints real nice easy to work with. Can't speak on durability to how long it lasts yet but so far impressed
Filament is great! Definitely buying more from you guys.

First, let me say that this filament is a great value - but that value comes at a price. I bought the first spool of transparent red PCTG filament and was very pleased with it. The color was rich and dense and even (but now I was out). I ordered more to continue the project and found that the second spool was riddled with defects: Even though I put it through multiple drying sessions at recommended temps, the first time I used it after drying it was still crazy-wet causing crazy bubbling and layer bonding issues. After drying it again for an even longer period of time, it printed *better* but the color was nowhere near as dense and rich as the first spool, AND it had color density shifts along the length of the filament - so my transparent project has a "splotchiness" to it (same thickness of wall, different density of color). On top of that there were what I can only describe as "contaminants" within the filament that would cause dark splotches within the walls of the print. These are heavily pigmented "clumps" that create blemishes that are pretty much impossible to remove. I don't know if I got a bad spool, but I will probably look elsewhere for transparent PCTG in the future - which is really too bad (I want to support US-based manufacturing).
Joe,
We will be reaching out via email to get this issue sorted with you, it definitely sounds like you received a defective spool. What you experienced was from poor/improper colorant dispersion, the improper color & heavily pigmented clumps are both due to the colorant pellets not fully melting and mixing into the base resin.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review; we appreciate it, and it helps us improve our products and QC process.
This filament prints better than any PETG I've ever used and the color is wonderful. Part strength and durability seem excellent.

The color is outstanding.
The only reason I didn't say 5 stars is due to a couple of cross-windings in the roll that hung it up. I get this now and then on 2kg rolls near the beginning. Otherwise, it's done great! It's tough stuff that resembles a brake light on a car with it's coloring. I'm not sure if that's a suitable application, but the refraction and ruby-glitter through the filament reminds me of a brake light.
The translucent filament looks fantastic and prints easy and evenly with vibrant color. Highly recommend.
I'm using this to make trim parts for my classic fiberglass boat, which is bright red. I haven't stressed any of the part I made, but the fiber is easy to print, and the semi-transparent red is really bright and beautiful. I couldn't be a PETG red that was anything like it.
Excellent Filament and great company to work with
I purchased ruby red with sapphire blue to print a water spray model. its awesome
This stuff prints extremely well, and the color is rich, bright red. I've made some really cool stuff!
